About the role - your contribution

We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering to join our leadership team and help shape the future of RIDE Capital. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of the engineering function within a fast-growing fintech company. This is your chance to take on a pivotal leadership role at a rapidly growing fintech company.

As the Head of Engineering, you will:

Shape the engineering function: Define its future and guide its growth to meet the demands of a modern, innovative, digital private bank.
Lead and inspire: Build a high-performing engineering team, ensuring alignment with RIDE’s mission and goals.
Collaborate at all levels: Work closely with stakeholders across Product, Data, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver solutions that provide real value to customers.

As our Head of Engineering, you will:

Lead and inspire: Build and manage a team of high-performing engineers who are passionate about delivering value to our customers. Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive best practices: While practices like Pair Programming, TDD, Continuous Refactoring, and CI/CD are preferred, you’ll have the autonomy to determine and evolve the methodologies that work best for your team.
Champion collaboration: Foster a work environment where open communication and alignment are the norms. We value an organizational culture where anyone can approach anyone else— and the focus is on collaboration rather than hierarchy.
Drive innovation: Leverage your technical expertise to identify new opportunities, solve complex problems, and ensure our technology stack supports the company’s long-term growth and vision.
Deliver scalable solutions: Oversee the development and maintenance of our technology stack, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
Manage infrastructure: Lead the design and upkeep of cloud-based infrastructure on AWS, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Lead by example: Actively participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and mentoring team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Support cross-functional goals: Partner with stakeholders to define and deliver on the product roadmap, aligning technical execution with business objectives.

Skillset, experiences and mindset we are looking for

We’re seeking a candidate who brings:

Technical Leadership

Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams.
A track record of fostering a collaborative and innovative engineering culture.
Ability to balance technical depth with strategic vision.

DevOps and Tech Stack Expertise

Deep understanding of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS (MySQL/Aurora), TypeScript, REST/GraphQL APIs, and modern web development frameworks.

Development Practices

Familiarity with methodologies such as Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Refactoring is preferred. However, as Head of Engineering, you will have the autonomy to establish and adapt the engineering practices that work best for the team.
Commitment to clean code, refactoring, and automated testing.

Domain Knowledge

Experience with trading systems, financial services, and accounting is a plus but not a requirement. Knowledge of API integrations (e.g., Interactive Brokers) and financial regulations is valuable.

Problem-Solving and Innovation

A track record of implementing innovative solutions to solve complex problems and drive business success.

Communication and Collaboration

Strong communication skills to ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders. You should value a shared direction and vision, actively facilitating collaboration and feedback.
